The combined dryer operates through a sophisticated process. Initially, compressed air, which is typically hot and humid, enters the system. It first undergoes heat exchange with already dried, low-temperature compressed air in a heat exchanger, reducing its temperature. This pre-cooled air then enters the evaporator of the refrigerated dryer, where it is rapidly cooled to a dew point temperature, typically around 2°C to 10°C. At this temperature, most of the gaseous water vapor condenses into liquid water and is separated from the compressed air in a water separator.
Subsequently, the low-wetness compressed air enters the adsorption cylinder of the heat-regenerative desiccant dryer. Here, an adsorbent material such as molecular sieve or activated carbon further removes residual moisture from the air, achieving a dew point temperature as low as -40°C to -70°C (depending on actual operating conditions). This ensures that the air is highly dried, meeting stringent requirements for air humidity in various industries.
The combined dryer for compressed air post-treatment represents a significant advancement in technology, offering a highly efficient and cost-effective way to achieve low dew point compressed air. By integrating the strengths of both refrigerated and heat-regenerative desiccant dryers, it provides a versatile and adaptable solution for a wide range of industrial applications.
